Villa Elena | Varenna

Varenna, on the eastern arm of Lake Como, in Lecco's province, 70 km. away from Milano, is one of the most charming town on the lake. Located between lake and mountains, this town features incredibly narrow, steep alleys with ancient stone houses plunging straight down into the lake with spectacular views.

Probably less famous than Bellagio, that can be seen on the other bank of the lake, Varenna doesn't have anything to envy to other more famous resort of the area, maintaining a reserved and peaceful atmosphere not spoiled by mass tourism.

If we walk through the centre we feel like visiting an old fashioned world dotted with doorways and alleys, churches and porticoed houses and when we finally reach Riva Granda we are delighted at the sight of small shops and cafe overlooking the lake.
